Because my friends know I’m a “techie”, they frequently ask me questions about various issues with their computers, software or internet activities. After attending a local small-business discussion group a few times, I realized there are many such people who would like to make more use of technology in their businesses but don’t have the time or the inclination to evaluate all the various options and capabilities. It seemed to me that what they needed was simply a friend in the business, a helping hand they can trust, who isn’t trying to sell them on an expensive slate of products or services.
